Fantastic, that 'oldies" music. One of the reasons I have RUclips.
Thanks for your comment.
Great video!
😊😊😊😊
Great jog, however your photograph of the cane train at 17:52 is not Barbados. It is (c.1935) of Hawaii, Oahu. The Steam train hauling sugar cane, is a black and white postcard from Hawaii. For some reason, this photo is often confused for Barbados although such an engine did not operate in Barbados.
Thanks. I knew it wasn't a photograph taken in Barbados, but I couldn't find one showing sugar cane being transported by a train. It is however a good representation of what took place.
I have been looking for a photograph of a train in Barbados hauling cane to factory for many years without success. I’m beginning to believe that only manufactured sugar was carried to Bridgetown from the factories along the line and cane to factory was only ever carried by animal cart. Never mind, nice presentation all the same.
High tech when I was a kid.
Well presented, symbolic, entertaining & informative WITH a griPPing SoUnD TrAcK. "Congratulations BDS!"
Destructive people.😢
My childhood memories! I was in tears. God bless Barbados.

Hi i love it the dancing the foot works 😊 lovely .
I was not born, but I heard it was horrible. The pictures I saw about it proves that.
Thank you for these great memories….we had a Rediffusion in the kitchen
Thanks for the good memories! When I was there, Yusuf Ali presented "Dateline International"; I guess Leslie Seon must have come later.
Bajan history is so important for the understanding of Western hemisphere history...It gets deep.
😢 wow, wow
June 25 2023 vintage very nice memories
Love it. I remember those days well.
Can someone list where this was filmed at and their locations I also couldn’t find where the hospital Sarah was taken to
Beautiful Video....Peace 2 the people of Barbados. Such a magical place ✨
Wow it's so nice to go back in time this is what you call memories my grandmother had one in the corner of her front house.
Mike Wilkinson ,the ultimate entertainer, one of the pioneers of the musical scene of Barbados,he was the first crowned Calypso monarch of the island; Mike Wilkinson was known as our Nat Cole , yes he possess the voice. We owe him also, the entertainment industry recognizes his contribution to the building of it's growth,if not those that control it,the. The Entertainers do.
Roger Gibbs is a historian,He goes from the palace to the gutter,Roger has time for all, I say this from past experiences, he was or probably remains a integral part of the world famous Merrymen. Contact him for his biography if it's not published, tell him to do so.The man is a treasure trove of all tings Caribbean & more.
Roger Gibbs was never a member of the Merrymen but his brother Chris was.
The unforgettable smooth, sometimes ruckus sounds of the Caribbean, the Merrymen led by Emile Straker kept Caribbean dancing for decades, the played to SRO crowds wherever they appeared, the Merrymen tkts.were hard to come by at any venue, they were booked in Canada by top hotels & clubs,Barbados and the Caribbean owes a debt to the Merrymen, they bought thousands of visitors to the Caribbean shows, our thanks.
The fabulous Fantastics; They remain the top r&b soul band to have come out of B'dos,Fern Trail was their resident vocalist,Fern was a pop, jazz singer, she thrilled audiences wherever she appeared. Rudy Boyce also made quite a few appearances with the Fantastics.
Winston"Go Flook" Richard's doing his hit entitled Faith
One of "Our" best dance bands -The Troubadours of Barbados, later known as the Troubadours International.
Tony "soulman" Grazette backed by the BRC.
The funky electrifying sounds of the BRC-Blue Rhythm Combo.
Tropical Islanders were tops, smooth groove, melodies in sync, need I say more, just give an ear
WOW - what loving memories! Thanks SO MUCH for sharing 🙏😇
You are welcome.
thanks for the history
You are welcome.
Where are these scenes located
Barbados.
Awesome!
5 months later but this is an excellent presentation, Barbados hasn't had a *devestating* Hurricane Janet in 1955 but I wonder why no one ever speaks about Hurricane Allen in 1980 given it was so close to Barbados in proximity
This is amazing. Thank you for posting this informative video. Is there anywhere online to see photographs of the restaurant at Sam Lord’s Castle?
Bruh its in the Bahamas
